Score one for the psych major

So I'm watching Law and Order: SVU, and I totally called the False Memory Syndrome before the credits even rolled. And all I had to go by was the title "Repression" and a girl saying she'd been raped.

Either this show is getting a tad predictable when it comes to psych stuff (which, um, yeah, it totally is once you've seen enough episodes) and/or, I'm just that badass in psychology.

Speaking of, I need to figure out a research paper topic children and/or adolescents in inpatient psychiatric care. And I need to do this in, oh, the next day or so. Anyone have any ideas?

L&O: SVU is usually pretty transparent with their cases. Although, like you said, it might be the psych major thing.

Possible topics (because I love adolescent psych): self-mutilation/self-harm, eating disorders - these are the two biggies that most of these guys get put in for, borderline personality disorder (BPD), post-traumatic stress disorder (usually if a child has been raped/molested), schizophrenia (although that's more common as a young adult), autism (at least the lower-functioning level), anger management ... ?

I know they're all so typical, but they're the most common things that younger people are in hospitals for.

or maybe you're too smart to live?
