More Buffy Angel stuff

...Buffy really can't take responsibility when she screws up, can she? Like, at all. Her role in "Sanctuary" boils down to vengeance-starved bitch. And in the end, she just blames it on Faith.

Interesting character choice. Wish I could remember if there was ever any follow-through on it in the Angel arena (and not her going into self-destruct mode later on, as that was a lost-heaven thing).

Hi lover <3

Saw the post, couldn't resist :)

I think for Buffy, her frustration at not understanding this darkness that Angel and Faith share, it manifests into something ugly and petty. She comes across as jealous and shallow and petty, but honestly--the uber-bitch who just slept with your boyfriend is now looking cozy with your OTHER boyfriend...or epic love, whatever...and this is the guy who can never seem to give you what you ask for: himself. And he's giving it freely to Faith, comforting her--that image, I imagine, must seem so at odds with everything Buffy is about--yes, her relationship with Angel is complex, but she always knew where Faith stood with it--on the fringes. That is, until S3 and that fateful episode, when everything changed and then the seed of doubt is planted.

I think the fact that she doesn't kill Faith outright speaks volumes as to her humanity and her character--she knows its not right, even though she wants to act on her vengeance so bad. Whereas Faith would have knifed her right off the bat.

There was never any real follow-up in this arena, they never again mentioned Angel as a source of tension between the two, but you can tell it adds anotherlayer to Buffy and Faith's dynamic.

Oh young love.

I guess my issue is, even after Angel doesn't respond to her "I have a bf who's better than you so NAH" attack but instead tells her how much she's hurting him, she still puts the blame on Faith.

Which, without follow-up, is almost TOO petty and bitchy, IMO.

(Also, wanna get on AIM and talk Buffy with me, as my roommate hasn't seen nearly enough? Please please pretty please with sugar on top? :P)
