Gah, ok, I'm going to say this once.

J. K. ROWLING HAS KNOWN WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO WITH THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS FOR YEARS! JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT HAPPENS IN HP6 IS NO REASON TO INSULT IT! IT'S CANON. FUCKING DEAL WITH IT.

-_-" There. I'm done. This is not meant towards anyone in particular but I've seen WAY too many ppl comparing her latest book to fanfic, saying her characters are OOC, choosing to ignore random aspects of canon because they don't like it, saying someone else wrote the book, etc. It's just stupid... I just read HP6 in 2 days, read HP3 in 2-3 days, and am reading HP6 again. It's obviously written by the same author and still JUST AS GOOD. Just because stuff you don't like or agree with happens is no reason to insult JKR. It's immature, ridiculous, and darkly amusing, since most of the ppl doing this are ADULTS, for goodness' sake.

Ok, now I'm rlly done.

Ta mates.

I find that the people saying that it's reading as fanfic... are people who read too much fanfic...

It's why I had to stop, I kept getting confused with canon.

~shrug~ but that's just how I see it.

Sounds like a good way to see it, actually. Lucky me, I don't really read HP fanfic. :D

Comparison with JRRT

It would be interesting to compare reviews of JKR's books with reviews of the volumes of Lord of the Rings when it first came out. Of course, there was no internet back then, so you'd have to find published reviews of JKR's works to make an apples-to-apples comparison.

Junior year Literature term paper idea, anyone?

She claims to have them planned out, anyway.
I don't insult it; I just dislike it. It reads like a well-written mostly in-character fanfic *shrugs*

I think we need to agree to disagree here...

It's personal taste, so oui :-)
