Sup Family Values?
Ok, so, I think fuckinwickedbadass might just cover this concert. So, Kaila and I got there 2.75 hours early and stood in the sun sipping at our waters (we brought loads; we were prepared) and then rushed forward to get in the Pit. Because of delays involving bags suddenly not being allowed, tickets AND bracelets being required for entrance into the Pit, and random lines being opened when we're already in another line, we weren't first row... though we were second. XD SOOOOOO freaking close! We finally got there in the Pit at 2:30.... and stayed there until 9 PM. I sat down periodically. That was entertaining. I sipped (vs. chugged--it was 92 degrees @_@) water so I wouldn't have to go to the bathroom cuz my spot'd be lost once Flyleaf performed, cuz then we were too close to Evanescence and Korn. Crowd surfers need to be shot in the face. I need the guitar someone played that had flames and skulls that were colored like the flames. Everyone said "fuck" but Amy... that was amusing. Though how being called "motherfucker" is a compliment is beyond me. Throwing your shoe at the stage=stupid way to show like/dislike. We couldn't really hear anyone but Amy and Korn... though that was helped by the fact that I knew the Ev lyrics. My feet kill, but, luckily, I'm not as bad off as Kaila, the one who didn't sit down for 9.5 hours straight and who wore flip-flops.
Some of the bands blended together for me (i.e. Atreyu and Trivium.... esp. Trivium) but the guys from Neurosonic were SO awesome (*coughjacketscough*, *coughdollvampboycough*), Lacey from Flyleaf had a cool "little lost girl" thing going on in her white dress, plain ripped jeans, and vulnerable/pissed off expressions. Granted, she also never addressed the crowd except when throwing the water bottles at us and, once, winking as she did it, but still--they were good. Evanescence was, of course, awesome. Amy was VERY into the songs, jerking and bouncing with the beat, practically making love to the mike, etc. HOWEVER, Evanescence only played for about 40 minutes which was SO very lame. As for Korn, well, we were dying (aaaaah legs) and didn't feel like getting killed, so we got OUT of the pit for them, got some Mountain Dew and clothes (or at least Kaila did, though she was nice enough to share the drink), and then found some empty seats and rocked out to Korn. Dude, I'm not even a fan and they were BADASS. I need to dl summa those songs. And the lightshow for them was SOOOO good. O'course they were last and performed for an hour and a half (which Ev was s'posed to do... -_-"), but now that we were rested and could choose when to get up or sit down, I was bouncin' around and the like, something I only REALLY did for Ev and some Flyleaf.
Oh, and moshing in the seats=weird and vaguely lame. Don't do it. Esp. not when there are ppl behind you. -_-" You canNOT circle pit in seats. Just... no.
Ok, and that's it for now. I'm exhausted and Kaila prolly wants to update her own lj. Ta, mates. :D
