Life, the Universe, and Everything

Mariya went home yesterday so I have been forced to entertain myself all day. Ah, the horror! Basically watched The X-Files and wrote some today. My father is driving me nuts, though. We just.... do not get along. At all. My latest beef: my laptop no longer picks up wireless, which I actually need. No, it's not like I'll die without it, but it is necessary and damn handy. But of course he throws a fit and won't fix it, claiming that to do so would kill the laptop and blahblahblah. I should only use it for academics and I don't need it and blah blah blah. Make my mom do it, he says. Bastard. She does everything, and I try to be thankful for what he does do (which is quite a lot monetarily), but his attitude and stuff like this make it REALLY difficult.
Mariya tells me I'm a serious brat/bitch to my 'rents and I agree. I have a serious attitude towards my dad especially but only because I've built one up over the years. He has NO maturity and resorts to yelling and I can't help it; he just freaking pushes. My. Buttons. And of course I end up yelling things I shouldn't at him and gah. @_@ Why can't he just be a freaking stable, good dad? *grumbles* No, he's not all at fault, but you know what.... he really is in the main. It's not unreasonable for me to want my laptop's wireless working, especially not when, during the month before school, I'm most likely gonna be at my grandma's which no internet.... which I really need the month before senior year for things like, oh, maybe COLLEGE and EMAIL, and yes, recreational things too, such as lj and even games and the like. Grrrrrrrr.
On another note... I did some looking at college stuff today. I like Oberlin a lot more now, still LOVE JHU, but basically need to go over things and detail and figure everything out quickly. Maybe I will just come back down to FL after Putney. Iunno, I just need to figure out my college visiting schedule quickly, so I need to narrow down this long long list and actually look at half the colleges on it. (The college office mails out your prelim. list with labels as to what is likely, possible, and a reach and you basically go from there.) I really need to start looking at gap year programs more closely.
What else.... I've been watching Bleach obsessively lately. I really love that show, even though it IS just Inuyasha grown up (there's even an equivalent for the Wind Scar), but in the best of ways. It's also a very typical anime.... but this usually works. WAY too much dialogue with the battle just stopped gets kind of annoying, but the show itself makes fun of it so it's basically ok. The show repeats itself a bit but really only in terms of some themes. For example: Ichigo gets his ass whooped, he figures stuff out and then whoops ass. And repeat. This show is pretty osm, though there is a SURPRISINGLY small amount of Ichigo/Ishida fics. (Mariya and I looked because we were convinced they would be so very prominent after the ep.s in which Ishida was introduced. But actually, they're rather rare in comparison with, say, Ichigo/Rukia or even Orihime/Ishida, tho' I'm starting to see why.)
Writing! I've done more than usual but I still desperately need to work on my Constantine fic and make a LOT more progress on On the Run. Least I'll get a lot done at Putney, though there I get to write Mariya's b-day pressie. That should actually be fun. :D She made me a painting for my bday (I should really get a pic up on here) so for her b-day, I'm writing her a story to go with the painting. We decided this.... we're good roomies who of course won't kill each other my senior fall. (I'm the ONLY Sr. with a roommate then.... I can't wait until sr. spring already.... and oh gods the joy of a gap year.) I haven't read at all, though. Must get on that, I have SO many books here with me, not to mention the 3 summer reading books (which I'm reading the last month so that they'll be fresh in my head).
Yeah.... I THINK that's about it, mates.
OH! And I now have an operational cell phone. I love my mommy. She bought me a new SIM card. So, yeah, same number, just the old phone again. w007. And next time.... be WAY more careful with my phone on rides. Don't TAKE it on rides. Leave it in the locker with my purse.
I need to practice my guitar.... and have my mom pay the poor man who was forced to give me lessons.
And now, I be off.
Wow that was a long entry. Rather therapeutic though. I'm ready to write and/or be amused by Bleach now. :P
