Virginia Woolf
Oct. 25th, 2006 08:28 pmWow.... I can honestly, finally say I have found an author I pretty much can't stand. Yes, I respect her as an author. She's brilliant. But we're reading "To the Lighthouse" and I simply cannot stand it. It's boring as all hell, presumptuous.... gah. Reading 20 pages should not feel like reading 20 pages. I should not be dreading reading just 5. I should not be able to skip a bunch of nonesense that's thoughtful and pretty and not much else.
I understand what she's trying to accomplish but.... just... no.
And on another note, wow, I haven't posted here in forever. O.o The Evanescence concert I went to a while ago was honestly one of the best experiences ever.... They are FABULOUS in concert, esp. Amy Lee who grinned when we all sang along. With the old songs, we were almost as loud as she was, and they were osm with the new stuff. And I was so close, even if she is just a glowing blob in my cell phone pics.
So cool. XD

Speaking of pirates, I finally got around to reading Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. I laughed almost the whole way through it. I missed out not reading it as a boy.

Oh yeah, you can download it for free in either plain text or PDF at the following location:

Just search for Treasure Island. I installed the free version of mobipocket on my PDA and put the text version in there, so I could read it while I was riding the subway.
