Yet another fandom post
Jul. 28th, 2007 08:30 pmYou know... I actually like "Daleks in Manhattan". Yes, the pig slaves are odd, but the Daleks are doing experiments trying to create hybrids. And these Daleks have emotions and hate humans. They probably did the internet-absorbing thing from "Dalek" (yes, I know they were in 1930's New York, but they're apparently able to do temporal shifts more than once), so they know how "lowly" pigs are to humans. Pig organs are also used quite a lot in transplants. Hence, pigs work.
Also, while I agree that the Doctor could be angstier, he's perfectly full of angst when the lines call for it and David Tennant pulls off the facial expressions even when the angsty lines just aren't there.
No, it's not my favorite episode, yes, bits of the exposition are a little obvious, but it's a fun ep. and I like it. *Shrugs* It actually entertains me more than "The Shakespeare Code" did.
...I wonder how many Doctor Who related entries I can make in a day...
