salienne: (Doctor Martha Jack)
A snippet of a DW fic I may or may not ever get around to writing/finishing. Basically, Rose never went into the parallel world, but S3 still happened, just with Rose and Martha. Oh, and the Master didn't die. Thus, this would be post-LotTL, AU squared:

The Doctor is still rebuilding the console—Rose plans to bring him a sandwich, some milk, and several bananas after she finishes eating—and the Master is in his cell—Rose plans to bring him some cold mashed suede, but only because she knows the Doctor would be disappointed if the only other Time Lord in existence was forced to regenerate from hunger.

I like it, in a dark humor sort of way.

And I need an icon of the whole TARDIS crew. that would be some badass (though really busy) photoshop fun. Now if only I knew how to use photoshop...

...but reading legitimately amazing authors (fanfic, which often has gems that just take a big of digging to find before they hop up and wave their little arms because a lot of the time they've been staring you in the face) and listening to DW soundtracks will do that to a girl.

And a random observation, but have you guys ever noticed that when your body wants you to stop whatever the hell you're doing and do the whole unconscious thing, your muscles ache? Your eyes might itch and your head might swim, or not, but your muscles are little bitches that have pitchforks and you look like you'd enjoy a mighty fine skewering. You might've run a marathon or done nothing but sit on your butt and watch TV all day (...I really need to join a freaking gym or, you know, the weather in FL needs not to be 80-something in DECEMBER), but your legs just... hurt, and lying down is only partially a relief because then all the aches and pains are there. And this is blatantly me trying to be vaguely observant and poetic at 5:16 AM, which doesn't necessarily work that well.

Why am I not writing my novel? I should get back to that.

Nighty-night, mates!

Happy New Years Eve! :D

P.S. And a bit of my novel that amuses me: Something else that was new, another step on this ridiculous adventure whose stakes were, at the moment, merely icing on a very delectable and fucking weird cake.

P.P.S. Listening to DW songs should not affect me this up. I mean, you know it's a credit to the writes and actors and producers and composers when just listening to the soundtrack can evoke the same feelings the episode did, and when those feelings are strong. Just listening to "Blink (Suite)" or "This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home" makes me want to tear up or at least curl up in a melancholy ball of melancholy-ness and write fic.

Although it's not quite the holiday season, Christmas and New Years and Hannukah and the like are a'comin'. So...

Since I'm the stereotypical broke college student, I have an idea.

From now till New Years (or beyond; whatever), I'll be taking requests for holiday pressie fics. These may or may not end up being related to the holidays; you can request for them to be though.

So, come one, come all, and request! If you want certain characters, certain circumstances, etc., you can ask for that too. I should have these fics done for y'all a little past New Year's, possibly earlier depending on the number of requests.

Relevant fandoms for said requests:
-Doctor Who
-Farscape
-House
-Pirates of the Caribbean
-Constantine
-Original (It'll be fun and interesting, I swear!)

If you want a fic for a verse I haven't listed (i.e. Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, The X-Files, The Vampire Chronicles, etc.), feel free to ask for that too. I just listed what I've actually written/feel most comfortable writing, but I could try to write something else for you too.

So.... request, and happy Turkey Day a week early and happy holidays a month early!

~Moi

(Oh, and if anyone knows how to make this post sticky, I would be very grateful.)

So, after seeing [livejournal.com profile] enigma731's Fic Roundup, I decided to do one of my own. Why not? It'll be fun, methinks.

So... let's see how much I've actually accomplished this year. I'm not going to count random drabbles or starts of things on my computer, becuase, well, there are too many of those to count.

To write or not to write, that is the question. )

Overall, about 116,150 words in 2007, and I still need to write two more holiday fics. Not bad, not bad...
