My childhood arrived in the mail today

And by "my childhood" I mean those two Christopher Pike books I was obsessed with during middle school. One of them starts off with, "I sit alone in a dead world" (which is meant literally), and if that didn't influence my writing and my taste in fiction, I don't know what did. Maybe small monkeys with pitchforks and small newspaper fish hats.

And I will now put off IFP homework, because writing in a "light" style is still just as unappealing now as it ever was. :)
