...to be devastated that my sister's dog died? Like, not even my dog, but my sister's. I saw him maybe once a year, but he was one of the sweetest cutest doggies around, and you just couldn't be sad around him. And he made my sister really happy. He just always had so much energy and never outgrew being a puppy; he was tiny, and more than a bit stupid (though in a very loving way), and I don't even think he was 5 years old yet.

But my sister had to put him down, and he really was her baby; I know that if I'm devastated, she's completely heartbroken right now.

So... yeah, send good thoughts toward my sister please, everyone! I think she needs them.

*cuddles you* I understand completely. It always wrecks me when one of my animals, or parent's animals dies. I think the worse was a couple years back I had to go put my mother's cat down. I was 18. The cat was twenty. I grew up with her, she slept in my crib with me when I was a baby and so on. But she was just getting really sick, kidneys failing, and Mom couldn't do it. She couldn't take her to the vet to be put down. So I did it with my mom's wife, Barb. In the end I couldn't go into the room with Barb when it happened, I sat in the waiting room sobbing. But funny/happy side. On the way to put her down, she regained some of her old bitch fire and bit my arm in the car. I have a small white scar there to this day.

I have a feeling this might not have helped, but I fulled intended it to. But all of my good thoughts and well wishes to you and your sister. *cuddle* <3 If you need anything let me know. Give me a call or a text (when you can text again._

My sister and brother-in-law and niece's dog died and I feel EXACTLY the same way. He was a great dog. (I love dogs but my fascist piggie landlady won't let me have one.

:-/ I'm sorry. It always hurts to lose a pet-- and some people make it worse by not understanding that it was more than "just a pet".

I'll be thinking good thoughts towards your sister.

(Just last night I was thinking about what a miracle it was that we got my mom's cat back after the fire. She found him a month to the day after he ran away from the firefighters who tried to give him oxygen, and he was skin-and-bones. I'm not sure how this is related, but it seems like it is.)

The difference between having a dog and having a child is that you know from the beginning you will probably outlive the poor pooch.

Boxster is reaching the age where I am wondering how many more walks we have left together.

Your poor sister.
