...makes no sense whatsoever.
By extension, neither does Torchwood's. Or Ianto's. And I am sorely sorely tempted to ignore the whole "Children of Earth takes place in September of 2009" thing since a) their days of the week are not our days of the week, b) that squishes events to ridiculous extremes, and c) I'm pretty sure Ianto went to uni, but unless "Doomsday" took place in 2007, he had no time without a Time Turner. And I'm pretty sure Jack would've noticed that.
Or I can just do what the show does and throw dates to the wind and let magic be magic. Probably less stress-inducing that way.
