I love Pirates 2.... oh so very much. I watched it for the first time in FOREVER last night.... I so need to rewatch the first movie. Stupid homework, why must you exist?

Well, I'm proud of myself. I made it through almost the whole movie without thinking about dear old Leah but naturally once I realized, "Hey, I haven't thought about Leah!", guess what happened? So, I've made a slight plot point alteration to the fanfic that will only ever exist in bits and snippets on the computer and in my head:

Leah gets stuck on the Flying Dutchman with Will. It's sorta sad since now I don't get to imagine how Jack flirts literally behind Leah's back and the conversations Leah and Norrington could have... but it works. Just getting her onto the island with Will is a problem, but hey, since all the characters seem to be invincible in the movie anyway... *pokes fun at the movie. Poke poke :P*

Jack: You have my payment. One soul to serve on your ship, he’s already over there.
Leah: Shock
Davy Jones: One soul is not equal to another!
Jack: Aha! So we’ve established my proposal is sound in principle, now we’re just haggling over price.”
DJ: Price?
Leah: Rage
I told you guys this was a really rough outline…
Jack: Just how many souls do you think my soul is worth?
DJ: 100 souls. 3 days.
Jack: You’re a diamond, mate. Send me back the boy and I’ll be right off.
Leah: Surprise. Maybe Jack’s not that bad.
DJ: I keep the boy! A good faith payment! That leaves you only 99 more to go. *laughs*
Jack: Have you not met Will Turner? He’s noble, heroic, terrific soprano, worth at least 4, maybe three and a half. And did I happen to mention… ‘e’s in love? With a girl. Due to be married, betrothed. Dividing him from her and her from him will only be half as cruel as actually allowing them to be joined in holy matrimony, eh?”
Leah: Hope in Jack
DJ: I keep the boy, 99 souls. But I wonder, Sparrow, can you live with this? Can you condemn an innocent man, a friend, to a lifetime of servitude in your name while you roam free?
Jack: Yup, I’m good with it.
Leah (quietly): Jack!
Jack: Shall we seal it in blood, I mean… ink?
Davy Jones is not paying attention by this point but looked over at Leah when he heard her talk. Curious, he steps over.
Jack (louder): Shall we seal it, mate?
DJ looks back at Jack but Leah notices the opportunity to save her sister’s fiancé and without thinking says, “No!”
Jack glares at her and grins back at DJ.
Jack: Do forgive her, she’s a bit… addlebrained, you see.
DJ (ignoring Jack): And who is this?
Leah (forcing self to be brave): Leah, Leah Swann.
DJ: Well, Miss Swann, it seems you’re in disagreement with our terms.
Pause.
Leah: I am.
DJ: Well then, do you have an alternative to propose?
Leah glances at Jack and back at DJ. She stays silent. Debates offering herself but is too selfish/not stupid. No one’s THAT into self-sacrifice.
Jack (stepping fwd): Listen mate, you have the boy, I’ll get you your 99 souls, an’ then we’ll be squared away, eh? We don’ need t’involve ‘er in this.
DJ: And what, pray tell, is she to you?
Jack (grins): Nothing, jus’ handy to have around on deck, savvy? A handy female presence when times be right.
DJ: Really now? *Looks between the two. Approaches Leah* Then you won’t mind if I take her aboard as one of your souls then, will ye, Jack? If she’s nothing more than handy, that is.
Jack: That wouldn’t be a good idea, mate.
DJ: And why is that?
Jack: Well she’s rather useless, actually. Can’t hold her own on deck, far more trouble than she’s worth. She is, after all, a woman. Will Turner, on the other hand…
DJ: You misunderstand me, Jack! I’m not surrendering William Turner, I’m taking Miss Swann. Only 98 souls left!
Jack and Leah look at each other.
DJ: It makes your job much easier then, doesn’t it?
Pause.
Jack: 99 and you return her.
DJ (turns serious): Now Sparrow, why would you make your work harder for a cabin girl?
Jack: I told you, she’s useful to my crew. Not so easy to replace as some lovesick boy with a sword, as it were. So then, do we have an accord? *Holds out hand*
DJ: 98 souls, 3 days. *Shakes Jack’s hand and makes to leave. Says without looking at Jack* Now you, Sparrow, get to feel what Mr. Turner’s young lass will feel when she hears of our bargain.
DJ leaves, with crew and Leah.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, kinda sappy but it makes me happy, especially in the context of the fic in my head. :P

In other news.... I'm sick. And writing a lit. of the absurd sort of fanfic for Hamlet (for the course.... I love designing my own projects). Plus, break is REALLY soon, as in I leave for Florida this upcoming Thursday. YIPPEE!!!!! Although my parents are forcing me to go on some cruise, which would be fantastic.... if I didn't have to write college app.s and you know, get into college... *Sigh* Ah well, maybe I will get into college.... somehow. And maybe my essay ISN'T as pretentious as it sounds. @_@ I somehow doubt it, though.

Ah well, I'm off.

Ta mates.

I like Pirates II better at home than in the theatre. Had a great time watching it last night :-D

Dialogue: I like! I miss your fanfics...

Aw, get well soon :-( *sends chicken soup and cookies*
I like cruises...I'm going on one in January.

I say I need to get to California and we just sit there and watch Pirates and LotR all day.

I miss my fanfics too.... They just take up way too much time and don't really yield anything. *Shrugs*

Thankies! And enjoy your cruise... in a month. :P

That would indeed be awesome, if we could find a place to watch them. My house is a shambles...

Yeah, that's how it is for me :-(

Throw in a couple of Mafia movies and I'll join you both.

Can I bring my dog? He likes popcorn.

Sounds good. And definitely bring the doggie, though I so call cuddling him for about three quarters of the movies.
