How long is too long...

...for one-shot fics? (What, y'all thought I was going to say something else? ;) )

'Cause my latest Doctor Who fic is gearing up to be about 10-15 pages long single-spaced, and I'm debating whether to split it into chapters eventually or not. Hmmmm... Opinions, anyone? S'il vous plait?

And yes, this is a fic I'm writing so that I won't be tempted to put my time and energy into a far longer reunion!fic that will take me ages to complete and take way too much time away from the novel.... which really hasn't grown much in the past few weeks because of life and Doctor Who. @_@

Ermm.. I'm thinkin' chapters for that. It'd be hard to read that all in one sitting, and chapters makes it nice and easy to have a place to leave off and come back to if need be. *shrugs* ultimately, it's up to you though :)

Thanks for the feedback. ^.^ I'm leaning towards chapters.... though I'll have to actually finish and thoroughly edit before I can decide where to split the fic up. Two or three parts should work, methinks.

My longest oneshot to date is around 5,000 words. But then, I'm notorious for writing chapters that are shorter than the norm, so... I think it really depends on the rhythm, and whether or not it lends itself to being broken up.

My fic has already surpassed that, and there's a few pages of story left. As to whether or not I'll keep these pages or cut them out, I'm unsure as yet, but that's what editing is for. :P

And I think I could break it up (it's already in sections), I'd just need to figure out where.
