salienneOkay, this is just a random thought that I doubt any of you will actually reply to (since I am obsessed and most of y'all are not) but in what ways is Joan actually like Rose? I mean, sure they look a bit alike, and sure they're both brave and clever and compassionate and strong. But beyond that...?
Rose and Martha have more in common than Rose and Joan. So when I see people saying Joan is really 1912!Rose, I get very confused. @_@ Just look at her behavior in Family of Blood with Martha... that is not Rose behavior. And look at how she associates with John Smith compared to, say, how Rose acts when first meeting Jack. And no way is Rose as mature as Joan, either. They're just... very different people, though I'm far too tired to make a detailed list as to HOW they're different right now. It's not just their respective ages and time periods (though those certainly are factors) that delegate their differences.
Just because John Smith falls in love with Joan doesn't mean she has to be Rose version 2.0 (or 0.5, since we're in the past and all). John Smith=/=Doctor, just as Mickey=/=Doctor, just as Jimmy Stone=/=Doctor, just as Reinette=/=Rose.
And that's me... being done with my half-rant, half-confuzzlement.
On another note, I'm actually working on me novel again. Yippee!!! :D
