Thoughts on Wood of Torchy

salienneAdam: Poor Jack! And poor Ianto! I mean, really... But the acting in the serial killer scene, and in all the Jack/family scenes... *In awe*
GDL is brilliant. And I'm sorry, but he tops John Barrowman. He's just... wow.
I was expecting a bit more Jack/Ianto, but hey, I can live without it. Still... want more now, kthxbye!
And I need them to address the Gwen/Jack/Ianto dynamic, because honestly! Rhys points it out, Jack is obviously aware of it (though seems to return her feelings half the time and doesn't the other half), and Ianto... just never mentions it. It's really... odd. And a bit irksome.
I mean, there's UST, and then there's just being unrealistic.
Reset: Miss Martha Jones, have I mentioned how much I love you lately? After you've walked the world for a year and saved everyone's ass, I suppose a silly little killer medical research place would be nothing. And you're arrogant! Yes! Now that's a flaw I can work with, now that you're no longer at all socially awkward and have somehow magically gotten over the Doctor (if only it were that easy) and are now dating Milligan. :P
And the Ianto/Martha conversation made me giggle and squee like whoa. XD Apparently, Jack is very very good in bed.
My favorite line:
Ianto [in complete deadpan]: Oh you are warped on the inside. How do you think of these things?
And now I really wish I didn't read spoilers, because OWEN!!! The date conversation was so cute, and he'd become such a sweetheart with asshole tendencies, and his death was so out-of-the-blue (for those of us who don't read spoilers, anyway @_@), and.... and....

And next week looks so brilliant!
So, to summarize: Martha is still awesome and until they give her some true and proper flaws to balance off the brilliance/bravery/beauty/all-around-badassness, I can work with arrogance. And both episodes were just... wow.
Even if Adam could have benefited from being much, much longer.
WHY IS TORCHWOOD GOOD? I may have to buy S1 now...
And I can't wait for next week. :D
