So... yeah, not much to say really. But honestly, it's like the universe has something out for the Doctor. Let's see how many people we can get him to kill because he has no other choice! Let's see how else we can fuck with him!

And Donna begging him to save just one, just one, and they way he says how he can't go back and yells about twenty thousand people being dead and hasn't he done enough...

I'm... gonna go wander around my brain in shock for a bit. Yeah. That about sums it up.

(And I don't care if it's majorly historically inaccurate, and dear God, paired with the rest of the episode, the Rose mention hardly stands out. The rest of the episode just... yes, the aliens were a bit lame, and I didn't care much about the other characters, but the entire thing with "the choice"...)

Nope, not dark at all. Nope.

All I can say is: the Doctor really really needs a break. And if the show keeps at this, I will be a shattered pile of dust by the time the season is over.

*Wanders off*

TNT has been showing Lord of the Rings pretty much nonstop for the past couple of weekends.

For the first time since it came out, I sat down and watched all three movies, in a row, last weekend.

After it was over, my own piece of this particular world seemed fairly boring and not worth trying for anymore ... temporarily.

Then, some real problem came along, drawing me into it and away from my previous escape.

I'm not saying you should not invest as much attention and emotion as you wish in the Doctor's world and adventures. The point of those stories is to suck you in.

What I am saying is ... you gotta learn to bounce back.

Well yes... I know. This entry was pretty much me reacting to the episode, but I didn't actually wander around in shock for a few hours. Just for a few minutes.

I'm perfectly capable of bouncing back from tv shows, don't worry. Sometimes, though, it's just more fun to dwell in the moment and muse. :P

So that bit about being 'shattered' by the end of the season ... that was just hyperbole, was it?

Okay. Just checking.

Yes. Yes it was.

Thanks for checking, though. :)

If you were French, you nickname would be:

Hélène l'Hyperbolique

Ooooh, Yelena is a derivative of Helen!

That's funky. :D

Well, I wouldn't say 'derivative.' More like the Russian version of 'Helen.' Kind of like Ivan/Juan/Jean/Johan/John/Gian.

I've seen it spelled 'Jelena' as well, by a girl who came from the former Yugoslavia. Not sure which part (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, etc).

It is rather dark already, this season, isn't it? I was hoping, after what they put the Doctor through at the end of last season (not to mention in Voyage of the Damned), they'd ease up on him just a little bit this time out.

Looks a bit like a forlorn hope even now. *sighs*

Apparently torturing the Doctor=fun?

And I love angst as much of the next girl (my favorite bits to watch and write are those when it seems like the universe is crashing down around our dear Time Lord), but honestly, he never gets a break!
