Who else here thinks that Chris Carter was full of crap when he claimed that Mulder and Scully weren't meant to be building up to anything couple-y when the show first started out? I mean, they're holding hands and, by episode 13, Mulder's stroking Scully's face to comfort her about her father dying. Yeah, that's a very best friend/work partner thing to do.

That said... X-Files=Win.

Oh God, that scene... It was going SO WELL until she falls into his arms. Because That Is What Women Do.

Bleh. One part of the Pilot that I don't like.

The Field Where I Died. When Mulder goes under hypnosis, he recalls Scully as always being by his side as a friend. Melissa was really his love interest.

Also, friends can be touchy :)

While I love that episode, I sort of view it as a Monster of the Week. Much like Je Souhaite where Mulder doesn't just wish the brain cancer thing away or The Post-Modern Prometheus, which is awesome but doesn't really make sense (and goes too far into being all literary and symbolic, imo) at the end.

Though his monologue at the start of the episode? Fucking WIN, dude.

And if my friend started stroking my face, I would be weirded out. :P
