Continuing my walk down TV memory lane...

Season 1 of Angel? Made of win. And Buffy/Angel? Totally pwns Buffy/Spike or Buffy/Riley (though, to be fair, I don't think anyone really liked Buffy/Riley).
Although Buffy/Spike/Angel? I could hear an argument for that.
Also, why is there not more Faith/Spike? They'd be dysfunctional in such a fun way. Also, hot.
(No, there were no brain cells involved in the creation of this lj post. All of those have gone melty with I-don't-wanna-write-this-paper-itis.)
ETA: What I find interesting is, Faith understands Angel better than Buffy ever could. Which, to me, is sort of fascinating.
Also, how freakin' vanilla must have his sex life with Buffy seemed compared to all the stuff he and Darla (and Spike and Drusilla and any combination thereof) got up to?

I think there were five people, you know, those five people who think DB isn't ridiculously hot!!
I think Faith/Spike would be really interesting to watch. I have read Buffy/Angel fic where they happened and liked it.
I have no Buffy/Angel icons, way to fail your first OTP, Maddy *is ashamed*

I know, right? Me too.

Date: 2008-12-09 03:35 am (UTC)Well, since he couldn't *have* a sex life with B without going all Angelus and evil... LOL Nasty gypsy curses. *evil grin*
Much as I later loved Fred and then Illyria, Angel never should have had his own show. He should have rotted in hell for murdering Jenny. *innocent smile* )Why yes, I do absolutely ship Rupert/Jenny, how could you tell? ;-D)
The problem with Buffy/Riley though was the overall story arch of the season. It became way to much about the science of cryptozology with the initiative and all that. I pretty much hated the entire Riley storyline (although I've liked the actor in other stuff), which made me really hate the relationship.
Buffy/Spike was doomed, pure and simple. they were hot together, but outside of bed it just didn't click. And don't even get me started on Angel's eventual love in later seasons of his show! (not sure if you seen all the seasons or not and don't want to spoil you.)
Although, if I ever decided to write femmeslash (which is one thing I haven't written despite all my slash writing) I think I'd give Faith/Illyria a shot because those two *together* wouldn't leave any town standing! LOL

Date: 2008-12-09 03:45 am (UTC)But... she was a horny teenager, he didn't act much betterm and when he becomes human, they do it on the kitchen table. Surely there would have been some hot and heavy 3rd base action going on, since that was one thing Angel didn't seem to guilt about (going by the "Don't go to school, let's make out instead!" scenes from S2, anyway)?
He should have rotted in hell for murdering Jenny.
LOL! But that was Angelus! For his soul to rot in hell is like puishing Hyde for Jekyll.
(And Jenny/Giles was awesome, even if Jenny was a bit of a moron for not TELLING anyone about the damn curse.
Although I still don't get why Buffy and Angel couldn't just tell Willow beforehand when they planned to get jiggy with it. I mean, yes, AWKWARD, but it would have worked. Or Angel could have done the Spike thing and just gotten a soul the old-fashioned, kick-demon-butt way.)

I really need to rewatch, as I don't particularly remember.... But from what I remember, Riley was also a jerk, and from what I just watched in Angel, when Buffy becomes uber-bitch she uses him as ammo. Which, you know, sort of messed up.

I've seen it all, and if you mean Cordelia/Angel, UGH. I hated it. It just seemed like they decided the two leads needed to be together because That's How TV Works.
And I was only a little happy when she finally died. Although the ending of Angel was basically, ending, what ending? (I keep up on the comics via wiki.)

OMG DO IT IT WOULD BE AMAZING!!!

Date: 2008-12-09 04:56 am (UTC)eh, oh well. LOL It's not like his soul was worth much before the gypsy curse anyway. I mean, honestly, Angelus the human was a pathetic excuse of a drunkard and womanizer. At least, when he was an evil vamp he had style. I maintain the gypsies didn't give him a soul so much as a conscience! He feels no remorse for anything until that point. Not even the waste he made of his human life before meeting Darla.
At least William was a poet, was *trying* albeit failing to be somebody more than a barkeep's meal ticket, before he was turned and became Spike.
and if you mean Cordelia/Angel, UGH.
Yeah, that's what I meant. And I heartily second that UGH. I'd stopped watching it for awhile and came back to THAT and nearly stopped again. Just, wrong. So very wrong and an ill-made match.
As to the end of Angel -- GAH! ACK! You had a few weeks warning, Joss. Don't leave it THERE!! I hated it. I was never that far into the fandom to read the comics or do much of anything outside the show as far as canon (although, if she still has a copy, you ought to make AV let you read her Dragonlance/Buffy crossover fic from way back when.). So that was the end of the story for me. A dead end alley! Bah!
And all the beautiful potential of Illyria/Wes gone. *sigh*
OMG DO IT IT WOULD BE AMAZING!!!
*chuckle* Maybe someday after I finish my numerous WIPs.

Date: 2008-12-09 05:10 am (UTC)I'd argue that killing people>>>being a deadbeat womanizer as far as sins go, but I'm not sure what the point of this argument would be. Or even what attracted Darla to Angel in the first place, come to think of it.

I know, right? They were all proud that it was leaving the gang about to battle the Apocalypse and all of that, but... NOT AN ENDING.
Apparently LA is now in a hell dimension and Angel is a human who rides the dragon around. It's.... very wtf.
Dragonlance/Buffy crossover fic
Dragonlance?
Also, completely random but I just watched the Buffy/Angel 1st time scene and all I can sort of think is... he's never seen her shirtless before? Really? They went from kissing straight to sex? And he's how old? And she has how many hormones raging? And they think the soul thing is their only problem?
It's interesting how much the show was willing to do after some time had passed.

Date: 2008-12-10 01:52 am (UTC)But...Angel is a human who rides around on a DRAGON???!?!!?! *headdesk*
But...Eep! Yelena knows not Dragonlance? We are so going to have to correct this hole in your reading material, luv. Especially now that you've played D&D at least once. ;-D
Dragonlance is a fantasy novel series based on the early play testing game sessions of the Dragonlance game setting for early editions of D&D. The first books were co-written by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman, and I maintain they are still the only two to really know the world even though the franchise has included several other authors over the last couple decades.
Actually, the character of Raistlin in Dragonlance very much influenced my portrayal of Severus at HC. It was my comparison of the two characters that got Lisa and I talking in the first place! LOL
But, I digress. There's a race called kender, essentially the halflings of the world, who are well known for being innocently dangerous when bored. Think house elves who look like hobbits without all the powers...but an increased penchant for absent-minded pick-pocketing. There's a line in the books that the most dangerous words to hear from a kender's mouth are I'm bored.
Long story, erm, not as long...AV took Tasslehoff, the kender in the main adventuring party, and the God of Good (who is just as absent minded) and plopped them down in the middle of Sunnydale...I want to say during Season Two, but I can't remember if Angel's all Angelus in it or not. Been years since I read the fic.
