Wow guys, I now know what everyone felt like when it was announce CE was leaving and getting replaced by DT.

He's 26! And he's had like 3 legit TV jobs. And I don't like his hair.

Okay, clearly this is a sign that I need to watch everything he's been in (or, in the case of The Secret Diary of a Call Girl, rewatch).

Though I do realize that this is me preemptively freaking out and that Matt Smith might be awesome. And if worse comes to worse, I can turn Who off and write Ten II/Rose fic and Farscape crossovers.

I am, however, amused that those fans in fandom who are convinced Moffat is going to bring back "proper Who" are now going to have a sharp reality check.

Youngest Doctor ever guys... He best be good to replace the man who can make a character just with his eyes.

ETA: Since he seems like one of the sweetest guys ever (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zog-6SrGxE0&feature=channel), I'm starting to feel better about the casting.

And on another note entirely, I'm trying to figure out what sort of novel the Master wrote under the guise of Harold Saxon. According to the Harold Saxon website, it's entitled Kiss Me, Kill Me. Apparently Harold Saxon is also vaguely based on Jeffrey Archer, whose own bestseller can be described here.

So... ideas, guys?

I'm thinking thriller with all sorts of fun subtext between the two leads, though I'm not sure if they'd need to be male and female to be on the Bestseller list (yes, I do have that little faith in people in general). And perhaps some Da Vinci Code-like searching through some famous place (though with probably far more historical accuracy)? Maybe they have to run around the Louvre or Hermitage?

(Yes, I do think he'd write something this cliche to make fun of the dumb humans and still end up on the Bestseller list.

And yes, this is for the Master/Lucy fanfic I'm writing.)

Any ideas?

Here's my take on Harold Saxon's novel. It's . . . not entirely serious.

I think a political thriller would be right up the Master's alley, largely plagiarized, with a hero who strongly resembles the Doctor and mocks him a bit. The villain, of course, would be the Master, and he'd be a more interesting character and end up getting away.

*Giggles. A lot.*

Have I mentioned how much I love that fic? I read it ages ago but don't think I commented...? Also, your icon is made of Win.

Oooh, I like the political thriller idea, and the idea of it being largely plagiarized, though I don't think I've necessarily read enough political thrillers to do that (thus I'm figuring on a very generic plot with assassinated diplomats and a final wild dash through some famous location). Although I think the Master might want to make himself the good guy who, while initially misunderstood, makes everything better. It would be good propaganda.
