No. I repeat, NO.

If that ending doesn't get retconned, I don't even... I don't...

You do NOT finally develop a character just to kill him off two episodes later. You do NOT.

I am... so beyond pissed off right now, I don't even know. Like, I can't...

YOU DO NOT.

ETA: Well now that I've calmed down a bit:

Okay, there is dark, there is dark, and then there is a black pit of despair. And, seriously? That ending crossed that line for me, and I am not a fan. Reading spoilers for next ep., it doesn't look like it gets much better either.

*Sigh*

I love angst. I love the Doctor holding the Master and sobbing, I love Farscape, I love Owen and Tosh's ending, I love Oz.

But this? This was far far far too much even for me.

I was already pissed off enough at the very THOUGHT of them agreeing to the deal and then they do THIS and now i'm crying again and I have their promo shots as my desktop and it's not going to stop and I just can't even

I don't even want to watch tomorrow, this is just how it ends.

I honestly truly loved every single moment of the episode but the death. It was written beautifully, it was acted and shot and directed beautifully, but we didn't need it. We've seen how dire it gets with the politicians' discussion, we'll see it get even worse tomorrow, we see so much horror and loss that Ianto dying? It was unnecessary, and infuriating, and I just...

I hate it. I hate it so much.

Ianto was just becoming a character with a past. His and Jack's relationship was finally being handled well, and they were getting somewhere, and their relationship could have grown in such interesting ways. Hell, Jack's character finally made sense.

And killing off Ianto just to show that nothing was sacred or to push Jack closer to the edge or to finish off Torchwood, it wasn't necessary. We could have gone without, and it would've been just as good. Less heartbreaking is not always a bad thing.

Just... UGH.

I semi-jokingly said that the Jack & Gwen show would have no soul, and i'm kind of starting to think it's true. Gwen's starting a family, if she survives, she has something to walk away to, and this is just something to pass the time for Jack, in the big picture. But... Torchwood WAS Ianto. He was the bright little center the kept things together, and not just as the Battle Butler.

So, in short, I'm hoping Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies and Jack can go back to being a companion or something super fabulous and I'm going to sit in my room and pretend that nothing beyond tomorrow (or maybe even tonight, if it comes to that) EVER HAPPENED.

Which is sad, because I fucking love this show.

*clings tightly to you* I don't believe Ianto is dead. I refuse to believe it. God damn it. *whimper and clings some more*

I slept badly because of this bullshit. A tv character's death affected my sleep.

I'm still so pissed off...

Fix-it fanfic, here we come.

*Clings back, because this did NOT HAPPEN*
