So having just rewatched Smith and Jones and Martha's exit in Last of the Time Lords, all I can say is, Martha kicks so so much ass and I really wish she'd gotten more to do in S4.

Also, I still say she and the Doctor should go to a pub and discuss how screwed over they've both been. Except of course hearing her pain would make the Doctor drown in even more guilt and self-loathing and angst, but once you get past that, they'd work just as well as the Doctor and Crichton.

And finally, writing Martha, Donna, and Rose giggling over alien Chia pets (sort of) when I should be studying for the test I have on Monday is highly entertaining.

ETA: Oooh, I forgot to say, yet again, how the Doctor has the biggest Death Wish EVER during SaJ (and S3 as a whole, really). I mean, the only way to foil this evil plot is to get the plasmavore to suck you dry of blood? The only way your vast Time Lord consciousness can think of to stop the Evil Plan is to... die before the Evil Plan is even complete? Ok then.

First off, ( Turn Left Spoiler ) Also, he mentions another way in that scene itself: have the Judoon increase their scanning level. I can think of so many plans that, though a bit more complicated than the Doctor's, would have worked out a bit better; sadly, all of them would've left him alive at the end. *Shakes head*

Also, yay one of the only examples of emotional consistency in New Who! The Doctor's being such a cold prat throughout the whole episode that I think Rose would've glared while showing him how he should be treating rightfully terrified people, and Donna would've given him a hell of a verbal smack.

Though, I do wonder, ( JE Spoilers )

It's scary how much fun writing the Master is. Just... yeah, I think scary is the right word. 'Cos afterwards I feel the need to remind myself that I'm not a bad person.

Yet writing him is still fun.

I find this only a bit odd.

Totally finished the second chapter of my fic (finally)! Just need it betaed and then, yay! I'm still worried about the structure and whether it gets tedious, but I figure said beta would help me with that. Once again I have less in it than I planned, but I think 5.5 pages single-spaced is enough for one chapter and that nearly 10 pages might be too much. And while the next scene could really go in this chapter or the next chapter (and, if this thing were broken up into real book-like chapters, would probaby go with these first two parts as the first chapter), it'll work in the next part. Certainly be a nice contrast, and I can always switch it around somewhere down the line.

And, on a completely different note, I have all my grades back but for one. Now I really really really want to know that one already, and by all rights I should, but until then I can rest content in that I've otherwise managed a 4.0 my freshman year at Hopkins. So.... yay. :)

Now all I need is to really thoroughly edit my novel and to not be taking Organic Chemistry this summer (if only, if only...), and all will be right with the world.

Why I have so much fun writing Jack (i.e. completely out-of-context snippet of dialogue in quasi-script form):

Jack: “Doctor, one thing never changes. You still look good in a suit.”

Doctor: “Now don’t start.”

Jack: “What, not even with you? And here I thought you were just jealous.”

Doctor: “Oh always. Could never get tired of you, Jack.”

Jack: “Bet I could fix that.”

Well I haven't touched my homework yet. But on the bright side, I did just finish my fic for doctor_rose_las, which was fun and gave me an excuse to watch 3 ep.s of DW. Went from about 1150 words to 996. Thank goodness Word counts hyphenated words as one word, yes? I figured this out after the fact and nearly swooned from relief, because otherwise I'd still be cutting bits out. *Pets the cut bits. Realizes that sounds very odd. Is very tired so can be excused, yis? Goes off to do her IFP homework. @_@*

All right, so, I've made a decision. That Doctor/Rose/Master fic that's been bouncing around my head? I'm writing it. Soon as February starts, I'm starting that fic.

Which gives me till the end of January to finish my novel (self-imposed deadline), but you know what? If I can't manage that, then I'm really not cut out to be a writer.

So.

For my fic, I am desperately in need of a beta reader, preferably someone who does know Doctor Who. I was wondering whether any of you wonderful, fantastic, brilliant people (either on my FL or lurkers, either works :) ) would be willing to stick with me for a longer fic? There would be much fluff and angst and digital white chocolate and cookies in it for you! And I would be forever in your gratitude!

So... pretty please? With sugar and candy TARDISes on top? :)

I finally figured out how to end my novel. For the longest time, I've just had this vague notion that Sandra and Valentyne would have some sort of confrontation with Elias and Elias's great-grandfather's soul would be involved and, whoosh, everything back to normal! Now... it's sort of like that but sort of not, and involves a helluva lot more research about the early 1900's and time travel and time going a bit melty/'splodey and it should be far more fun.

Wheeeeee writing. ^___^

Ah yes, and Kaila, don't kill me for not getting that fic to you yet! I'm watching PotC3 and writing you tentacle porn tomorrow, don't fret. (*Shudders* @_@)

DW holiday ficcy is with the lovely hippiebanana132 for betaing, and the Vamp Chronicles shower+alcohol+Lestat+Louis crack-ficcy (that may or may not exist) is all done. I hope you enjoyed, chaperoned, and if anyone else would like this fic that may or may not exist what with Anne Rice sueing her fanfic writers, I'd be happy to e-mail!

P.S. And on another note, I saw Sweeney Todd today. Interesting. Good, disturbing, and interesting. I think "interesting" is the best word for it, actually. And JD's singing voice makes me happy on a fundamental level of happiness. And Tim Burton kicks ass. And DAMN these people can act.

Although it's not quite the holiday season, Christmas and New Years and Hannukah and the like are a'comin'. So...

Since I'm the stereotypical broke college student, I have an idea.

From now till New Years (or beyond; whatever), I'll be taking requests for holiday pressie fics. These may or may not end up being related to the holidays; you can request for them to be though.

So, come one, come all, and request! If you want certain characters, certain circumstances, etc., you can ask for that too. I should have these fics done for y'all a little past New Year's, possibly earlier depending on the number of requests.

I figured I'd put up the idea for my Rose/Doctor reunion!fic that I came up with months ago. It involves all sorts of fun almost-paradoxes and cute scenes and drama and adventure and angst and time travel and wheeeeeeee, and I absolutely adore the idea. I just have no time to write it. ( SPOILER FOR UPCOMING DW HERE!!! )

All the same, I felt like putting it up, because I'm feeling creative but not in the mood for the Merchant, so here's something creative I did once upon a time. Especially since this weekend is all studying and death.
