Random Question

Hmmmm, ok, this is a random question based on a conversation I recently had. How do you guys view friendships? Do you feel they should take effort (like romantic relationships, I suppose) or that you should just be able to just enjoy them and have fun with/talk to/hang with whomever you want whenever you want?

This is just me being curious.

Friendships take effort. Maybe not as much as an intimate relationship, but all relationship categories require some kind of maintenance. Even if it's just a comment every so often on lj to let them know you're reading/out there listening, or talking on the phone/aim every once in a while. It's not really very hard to put that small effort in, and it only takes a couple minutes. If some one can't do that, I think it's unfair. Relationships are a two way street. Both people need to put work into it to make things work and to enjoy each other.

And in answer to your other comment, I can't do the weekend of the 11-13, since that's the 3 year anni. But then it's summer for me after that, so maybe the weekend after that? When it gets a bit closer, I'll let you know if something anything comes up that can't be re-scheduled, but I'll keep it as open/reserved for you as I can so that it can potentially work :)
