So, rewatching, just finished "They Keep Killing Suzie", and I'm reminded of why I never got into the fandom then and why I was pretty happy I didn't get into fandom then.
Because the emotional continuity doesn't make sense, the characterization and tone are all over the place, and how the hell does Ianto go from "I hate you OMG Lisa" to "Stopwatch Time 'cos you need comfort! :D" in 2 months?
I mean, you can make it work... but not very well.
And Jack and Gwen, the inconsistent characterization makes me cry.

Except I don't see Ianto going straight for the stopwatch, so he would've restarted a sexual relationship with Jack less than two months after "Cyberwoman"--which, while possible, is just a bit mind-boggling. Especially when one also tries to figure out what's going through Jack's mind.
Ianto's character arc is just so badly defined, and it makes S1 Gwen (who suffered from too much screen-time as well as really inconsistent characterization, IMO) seem really well done in comparison.
S2 Ianto was so much more win.
Most definitely.
Best. Snark. Ever.
