"Tell me what I should do, Annie." "Stay."
Jul. 2nd, 2008 09:05 pmSo, just finished Life on Mars (in 3 days--no, I haven't done much besides watch tv on my computer, come to think of it).
And ya know, I am really rather fond of this show. Have a few issues with the ending because, depending on how you look at it, it's a bit squicky, but it's quite nice in some ways too. So... yay mixed feelings!
Just one question, though:
What the hell is it with the creepy little girl?
Two seasons and I still don't get it.
Oh, and I really need a John Simm icon.

I am a member of your universe! In my world, he is like Sam Becket. He does go into a coma but is, at the same time, is actually transported back in time (to be a good influence and help and have amazing banter and all that). But he only gets sent back to one time and then, in the end, gets a choice of where he'd rather be. None of this "I choose my dream world over life!" stuff.
...Why am I getting fanfic ideas where evil little girl is actually someone sent to stop him and this is somehow tied into his later "death" in 1980?

The TCG is just creepy and the least thought about her the better I will sleep, the same goes for the clown on Ashes to Ashes (which you should also check out, 'cause it's wonderul!) *shudders*

Date: 2008-07-03 02:03 am (UTC)Exactly! That just presses way too many of my squick buttons, though. Thus in my mind, he is in a coma but somehow takes over the body of someone in 1973, a la Sam Becket. So when he jumps off the building, he doesn't die but actually travels back in time again. 'Cos choosing death and an escape over living I just can't support. @_@

Pretty much.
Ashes to Ashes (which you should also check out, 'cause it's wonderul!)
Good as LoM then?

Date: 2008-07-03 02:08 am (UTC)I personally hate Ashes to Ashes. I only saw the first ep, so maybe I didn't give it a good enough go, but to me it seemed to be Life On Mars: this time our protagonist is a girl, so Gene can shag her and we don't even have to worry about building emotional continuity first!
